I recently had a girls night with a couple of my favorite women (one of them has started her own blog: unusualcreativity.blogspot.co.uk), it was a lovely chilled night with food, wine and lots of gossiping so I chose to go for a pink girly make up look. Apologies for the iPhone quality selfie! Below is a list of all the products I used and a quick review on everything.
First, I prime my face with Too Faced - Primed Poreless Pure which is oil free. This is by far the best primer I have ever used, my make up lasts so long whenever I use this product and my skin looks and feels smoother. This primer is so lightweight it feels like there's nothing on your skin! Obsessed.
I then apply a layer of Mac - Studio Fix Fluid in the shade NW10. This foundation gives a really full coverage so it's not something I wear every day but if I'm doing something special or just need more coverage on certain days then this is my go to. I hear a lot of people complaining about how this foundation tends to crack or crease after a couple of hours but honestly I have never experienced that, as long as you moisturize, prime and then set your foundation there shouldn't be an issue.
I then move onto my Collection - Lasting Perfection concealer in the shade 01 Fair. I randomly picked this up in Superdrug (UK) and I am in love. Collection isn't a brand that I tend to use and I think this is the only product I own by them but it really is amazing. This concealer is very creamy and blendable, it's a great dupe for NARS Creamy Concealer and I would definitely say it works for any skin type. The only downside is that it's not as long lasting as the NARS concealer but it's very cheap so I can't complain really.
Next step is to set my make up in place with my Mac - Blot Powder in light. This is my favorite powder, it really does help prevent shiny skin and it great at setting foundation and concealer. This product again is very lightweight and leaves a fantastic matte finish. I brush a thin layer under my eyes and onto my t-zone.
For my eyebrows I used Anastasia Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade in Auburn. I've used this four times since purchasing it and you can see how little product has been used! I honestly have no idea how I lived before buying this, I won't say too much about it because I'm thinking of doing an ABH haul/review post. Seriously though, it's perfect.
To prime my eyes I use Too Faced - Shadow Insurance. This primer is really thick and creamy so you literally have to use the tiniest amount on your eyes but it holds make up in place all day and doesn't feel too heavy on your eyelids or oily.
So for my shadows I chose to use Urban Decay - Naked 3 palette purely because this is full of shimmery rosey pink colours and that's definitely the look I was going for. The Naked palettes are great, there's minimal fall out, they're pretty pigmented and the packaging is gorgeous. I used Strange all over my lid, a little bit of Buzz into the crease and then Limit into the outer corner.
I then took some Mac Pigment - Vanilla to the inner corners of my eyes just to brighten up my eyes and give a little bit more shimmer to complete the look. Vanilla is very durable and can be added to any look and suits any skin type/color. This product just gives a great shimmery satin finish and it's not too glittery.
My go to eyeliner is Illamasqua - Precision Gel Liner in the shade Infinity, applied with a MAC - 210 brush. I've used a couple of different gel liners in the past but this is by far the best one I've tried. This liner glides across your eyelids so smoothly and refuses to budge all day long. This product doesn't dry out in the pot and it's also water resistant.
I then applied RedCherry Lashes #43. I actually never wear false lashes but I recently discovered RedCherry and I'm now obsessed. They are 100% human hair and so comfortable to wear. I chose #43 because they're so fluttery and natural they just completed my look. You can get these at falseeyelashes.co.uk for £2.99 each and delivery is also FREE!
After I put my lashes on I then use my Yves Saint Laurent - Babydoll mascara. I can't even tell you how much I love this mascara so I'm just going show you what the YSL website says about the product. "The new aesthetic look for eyes. MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS BABY DOLL by Yves Saint Laurent. Seduction, all the way to the tip of the lashes. A vastly spread look that captures all the light. A micro-faceted brush that creates volume lash by lash: lashes are multiplied, precisely defined, magnified. On one side, thick and spaced bristles coat the lashes and create volume. On the other side, fine and close bristles reach every lash, including the smallest lashes at the corner of the eye for a full fringe effect. Wide open, her eyes attract all the attention. A falsely innocent sensuality. Stunning."
Lastly, for my lips I've gone for two Mac products I've recently picked up. The lip pencil is in the shade Dervish and the lipstick is Pink Plaid. This is a matte lipstick and I would describe it as a pinky/mauve shade, this reminds me of a 90s lip colour and I am in love with it. I went for the Dervish pencil to give my lips a darker outline and I honestly have no complaints at all about mac lip products.
So that's everything I used on my face, now that I'm looking at this post I'm thinking I used a lot of products but I had fun creating my look and I felt confident and quite pretty while wearing it!
