I have seen so many people rant and rave about the Glamglow Youthmud and I can't even explain how excited I was to purchase it for myself! So I initially saw this product a few months ago and I thought "I'll take that, thanks very much." then I saw the price and my heart sank. Unfortunately this product is £50 for a 50g jar which I personally consider to be pricey for a face mask but I decided to take the plunge and test it out!
I ordered the Youthmud, Tinglexfoliate Treatment which is supposed to tighten, tone and soften the skin. It is also expected to leave your skin brighter and smoother. The Youthmud contains volcanic rock, french sea clay, green tea leaves as well as chamomile and many more ingredients which are used to tighten pores and brighten up darker circles under your eyes. It does state it's suitable for all skin types as well. My skin has been a lot drier and dull lately so I thought this might brighten it up.
So first off, the product is slightly messy so I would definitely apply it over the sink just in case. You are required to mix up the product a little before you apply it and then you can use a foundation brush or your fingers to apply it to a clean face. The mask should be left on for 10 minutes then rinsed off with water using circular motions.
I applied the product all over and honestly the first five minutes were quite painful, as expected the mask does have a tingly sensation but it does feel quite intense. The tingling does however disappear as the mask begins to dry in. The texture felt quite grainy and rough and it smells exactly like cucumber and green tea.
The Youthmud really does cling to your pores as you can see above. Once the product is completely dry it is extremely stiff, I couldn't move my face at all which made me think it would be difficult to wash off but as soon as water touched my skin the mask turned to liquid again and washed off so easily.
This was the end result after washing the mask off, I stupidly forgot to take a before picture to compare my skin but honestly my skin feels so ridiculously soft and hydrated. I really thought that because the Youthmud is so dry and grainy that it might dry out my skin but it did the complete opposite. My skin felt so amazing and healthy after just one use, I applied my make up shortly after and I felt like everything was applying so nicely and smoothly to my skin and I really did feel like my skin looked more radiant.
I absolutely would recommend this product 10/10 the only downfall is as I mentioned before the price. Once this product is finished I might consider trying out the Glamglow Thirstymud but we'll see!
